EA QA
QA Tester
Online Clean Room (2004)
-
Worked with EA IT to provision a clean room space for online performance testing EA’s titles using network emulation tools and real-world internet. I was essentially off-grid in a special room inside of EA where I tested all of EA’s online-capable titles.
-
Liaised directly with other studio testing departments to handle games they were not equipped for (Burnout, Fight Night, etc.), including helping EA Singapore set up their own clean room
-
Worked directly with online engineers to identify and resolve network connectivity and performance issues,
-
Consulted with certification groups on router and port configuration issues
-
Built special relationships with EA’s central online dev teams.
EA Sports Online (2003)
-
Got my start in EA QA testing the full suite of EA Sports online titles (FIFA, Madden, NBA Live, NHL, and NCAA) during the early days of console online play. EASO was essentially an early version of Ultimate Team.
-
I verified online connectivity, matchmaking, and head-to-head features across platforms, which led directly into the dedicated online clean room work that followed.
